Sand Volleyball Camp

Most Common Questions

Where are prices listed?

Prices are available on the homepage of each camp near the bottom under "Rates & Dates". You can also find them here on the full summer calendar.

When will I get more information about camp after registering?

You can view all of the info you will receive now, or wait until we begin sending more emails at the beginning of the summer.

Can my camper be in the same cabin with their friends?

Probably. We have a roommate request field on the registration. If you submit one or two names of campers of the same grade level, we will almost certainly be able to get them in the same cabin. If you list more than two names or campers who are different grade levels, we may not be able to make that happen.

When will I know if my roommate request was successful?

You will see cabin assignments when we send out the roster in the week before your session. Please wait until then to ask. We cannot promise to honor all roommate requests. That said, we have had very few instances of unmet requests. Please trust that we do our best and refrain from sending additional emails until you have received the roster, at which point there is still plenty of time to make changes.

What discounts can I get?

This year you can get $50 off a camper's 2nd week, and then $150 off any additional weeks. You can also get $50 off for referring a new camper. Every 3rd camper you refer you get an extra $100 off in addition to the $50. So if you refer 6 new campers you get $500 off. No sibling or early-bird discounts this year.

How do I register two children at once?

The easiest way to register two children is to register and pay for them separately. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Travel

When should I get to camp?

Check-in is from 3pm-4:30pm Sunday; check out is from 10am to 11:30am Saturday.

How do I get to camp?

Address for GPS Units: 25 David Plummer Rd / Raymond, ME 04071

Be sure to note there are two Plummer Roads in Raymond. We are on 25 DAVID Plummer Road. Be sure to type 25 DAVID Pummer Road into your gps. If you do not type "David Plummer" the gps will take you to Plummer road, which is the wrong road

Some GPS units will tell you to turn off of 121 onto Panther Pond Pines Rd. This is incorrect. Once you are on Rt. 121, keep going until you get to David Plummer Rd. GPS units think that Panther Pond Pines Rd connects with David Plummer Rd, but it does not. Turn right off of Rt 121 directly onto David Plummer Rd. There will be a white sign with blue lettering for camp.

Can campers use cell phones?

Campers going into 10th grade or above may bring cell phones. Younger campers may not bring cell phones to camp. This policy is based on our belief that a week without digital devices is good for children, and our experience that young campers with cell phones are much more likely to become homesick than those without. In the event of an emergency, your child will have access to any number of counselor phones.

When can the older campers use their phones?

Campers going into 10th grade or above may use cell phones during meal times. They must take their devices outside the dining hall to use them. Cell phone use is not permitted inside the cabins or around camp. If a camper is reminded repeatedly to put away their phone, it may be confiscated and returned at the end of camp.

What should I NOT bring?

  • Mp3 players
  • Laptop computers
  • Video game systems

Food Allergies

What if my camper has a food allergy?

Campers with food allergies or medical issues should contact Peter Slovenski at coach@slovenskicamps.com

From the parent of a camper with food allergies: "Alex said he felt just as safe at camp with his peanut allergy as he does at home. Thank you so much for creating such a great environment for him with his allergy, it’s such a relief to know that he feels so comfortable, and has so much fun."

Sending Mail

Can I send mail to my camper?

Please do not send mail to campers. The mail system between the Raymond Post office and our camp is very slow, and it usually will not make it to us in time. You can give us any mail for them at check-in and we will deliver it mid-week.

Intersession

Can a camper stay at camp between two sessions?

Yes. Intersession is free & will feature games, trips to Hawthorne Beach, and 3 meals a day. Intersession may also include some light camp improvement work like raking.

Refunds

Can I just pay a deposit?

Yes. On the registration page, click the button that says "pay a deposit by credit card".

What if I need to switch to a different week?

We can easily make switches between weeks that are equal prices as long as the week you are switching into is not full. Just email us!

What is your refund policy?

Before June 1st we will refund all but $50 or give you a full credit for next year.

After June 1st we cannot make refunds.

In the event of an injury or family emergency, we can give you a full credit for next year.

Please contact Steve Slovenski for refund inquiries.
