Hi! My name is Persephone and this will be my second year as a counselor! My favorite thing to do at camp is kayaking to the beach and my favorite food that they make are s’mores brownies! I also love campfire- all of the fun music and competitions make it pretty much the highlight of the day! I’m so excited to be working here this summer!
I first attended Slovenski Camps as a cross country camper and have been coming back ever since. If I am not leading a group of cross country campers through the trails, I enjoy taking campers on kayak trips around the island.
I first came to Slovenski Camps five years ago, after my Dad told me about a camp he found online so good I was sure he was making fun of me. Fortunately for me, he wasn't, and I have enjoyed running the trails and eating nutritious dining hall food ever since, which helps me train for my Cross Country Season at Ohio Wesleyan University. Having been a counselor for the past two years, I love working with the campers to improve both physically and mentally, and to develop new skills.
I started working at camp last summer and instantly fell in love. Playing manhunt at the end of the week with campers is always a fun time. Eating a nice breakfast of eggs and sausage is the perfect way to start off a day at camp.
I first came to camp two summers ago, for a week after being a counselor at the Bowdoin Day Camp. I instantly fell in love with Panther Pond and the camp design, and signed up for two full summers here. My favorite activity is colosseum ball, mainly for the foam swords and epic battles that unfold. My favorite camp meal is the stir fry with teriyaki sauce. I love the absurd amount of creative materials provided for the campers that make the activities fun to spectate while running them!
I first came to camp the summer before fourth grade and have attended the dodgeball and cross country camps for six years. My favorite activity is always something with battle rockets and the evening sessions of capture the flag or manhunt are a blast. The camp food is always delicious, and the bread rolls they serve with meals are fantastic. I always look forward to coming to camp because it is so easy to meet new people, the staff are always welcoming, and it feels like a second home to me.
When I first came to Slovenski Camps at the end of last summer to work as a counselor, I knew that this was a special place where campers learn character values and can freely be themselves. My favorite activities at camp are battle rockets, bunny kingdom, and running up the coastal trail of “Mount Doom.” My favorite camp meal is chicken nuggets and ice cream sundaes. I am so "happy" to be back for another amazing summer!
