Each session runs Saturday afternoon to Saturday morning.
Campers may come for one week, several weeks in a row, or multiple inconsecutive weeks as you wish

Discounts
Half Summer Session
Campers who attend for four weeks get the half-summer discount of $400.
Full Summer Session
Any campers who attend for 8 weeks get the full summer discount of $1,000.
Referral Discount
The referral discount is $100 off for the referral of a new camper who has never attended our programs before.
There is no limit to the number of referral discounts you can earn. The number of campers referred is independent of number of sessions each signs up for. Referring one friend who signs up for 6 weeks counts as one referral because it was only one person.
If the camper you referred cancels their registration and does not attend, the discount will be cancelled and you will need to pay the difference.
Referrals are applied to your account manually. Email us to have us check for your friend's registration and apply the discount. The discount is applied as a credit to your account after you have registered a camper. If you already paid too much, we can refund you.
Early Season Pricing
The first two sessions of the summer are discounted due to seasonal demand. The first two weeks of camp are great options for some families while other families are still in school or taking a family vacation. Early sessions have the same activity options as regularly priced sessions. The staff is fresh and full of energy for the early weeks.
The early season prices cannot be applied to any other weeks. If you sign up for the early weeks but need to switch later, we cannot apply the discount to the later weeks.
Other Payment & Discount Questions
We do not offer any scholarships. We strive to offer the best camp we can at a reasonable price. We have many old buildings and a large property requiring a lot of maintenance work; we try to attract a high quality staff and compensate them for their hard work; we provide plenty of wholesome food. The first two sessions are heavily discounted, and that is the best we can do for scholarships or discounts. The discount cannot be applied to other weeks.
Can the referral discount be applied to a sibling? Yes, if the sibling
is a first time camper at Slovenski Camps. The referral discount applies
to new campers only, regardless of whether it is a sibling, cousin,
or neighbor.
Can I refer the person who referred me? No, you cannot refer each other to camp. This is true for siblings and friends. A child cannot refer his sibling and be referred by them. A kid cannot be referred by his friend and refer him. We can only apply one discount for $100 in these situations. If you want to split the referral, you must do so amongst yourselves.
Can referral tuition credit be transferred to next year? No, referral discounts apply to the current year only and do not carry forward if you need to cancel.
Is there late season pricing for the last week? No. We typically have less demand for the last session, but it is a regularly priced week. All the activity options remain the same as regular weeks. We have fewer programs that week (Athena, Dodgeball, Excalibur), so it usually ends up with extra spaces, and we are fine with that. We begin packing up a few items that do not interfere with the camp activities, such as the pole vault mats because there is no pole vault camp. It gets a little colder at night and a little darker sooner in the evening.
Refunds
Refunds before June 1st
Before June 1st we can refund you in two ways: 100% as tuition credit for the next year OR all but $25 returned to you by your original method of payment.
Refunds up until 10 days before your session starts
Up until 10 days before the start of your session, we can refund you in two ways: all but $25 as tuition credit OR all but $50 returned to your original method of payment.
For precision in case it is needed, 10 days before your session will be defined as the start date on the calendar minus 10. Since check in starts at 3pm, your request must be submitted to our email by 3pm. All our sessions start on Saturday, so two Wednesdays before by 3pm is the deadline. For example, if your session is June 19, then the deadline to request your refund is Wednesday, June 9 at 3:00pm.
Refunds in the final 10 days before your session
We can give you all but $50 as tuition credit if you need to cancel in the last 10 days before the session starts. At this point, we are unlikely to fill the space we held for you, even off the waiting lis, so we cannot offer cash back. We make cabin assignments and order food based on registrations 10 days out.
Deposit & Balance Due Dates
A deposit of $150 per camper is required
to hold a space in camp. Registration is not complete
until payment is received.
The balance of tuition is due June 1st.
You may ask for an extension if your program is more than a month away. You may receive emails in
the meantime reminding you to pay. Sometimes we have office workers check on payments and they don't find the email asking for the extension. If so, please kindly reply to those emails to let him know that you received an extension.
Switching Weeks
There is no fee for switching weeks. There must be space in the new week to accommodate a switch.
In the event of a need to cancel, we will try to work with you to transfer to a different week with availability.
Replacement Camper
If you need to cancel and can find a replacement,
you may request that we substitute the new camper in for
the one originally registered.
This avoids any loss even of administrative fee, but you are responsible
for dealing with the exchange of money to transfer the spot.
This transfer only works if we have space for the new camper in the correct age & gender cabin.
Tuition Credit Use
Credit is for the season immediately following that for which credit was awarded and expires at the conclusion of that season e.g. if you registered for summer 2020, withdrew from summer 2020 before your session and received credit, your credit is good for any week of summer 2021 and expires at the conclusion of the summer 2021 season. If you register for 2021 with that credit, but then cancel, the credit cannot be rolled over to 2022.
Transferring credit to another family may be done on the customer end, but not from our end. We cannot pay you a cash refund and then have the other family pay us; they must pay you to purchase your credit from you.
Credits are applied to registered campers on our software, so we cannot send you a gift card or apply credit until after you enroll. We can send you an email confirming your credit amount.
Discounts
Discounts are applied after you register because of the technical limitation that we can only apply a discount to a camper in the system. You may defer payment and email us to apply your referral discount so that you can pay the right amount. If you overpay because of a discount, simply email and we can refund your payment partially to achieve the correct balance.

Can my camper be in the same cabin with their friends?
We make the cabin lists by grade.
You may submit a roommate request with your reservation through your profile, but we may not meet it.
If you are the same age as your friend, you may end up together.
If you are more than a grade apart, you will almost certainly
not be in the same cabin.
Most cabins have two different grade level campers.
A few cabins have campers from three different grades.
What about sick campers?
Any camper who is sick before camp should stay home, and will get 100% credit for a later camp week. The credit can be used later that summer or the next summer.
Campers rarely get ill at camp. But when they do get sick, we isolate them in one of the infirmary isolation bed rooms until they can be picked up to go home. Campers who have to leave camp early because of sickness receive pro-rated camp tuition credit for a later week. The credit can be used in 2020 or 2021.
What discounts can I get?
This year you can get
$100 off for referring a new camper. The referral
discount can be applied for the referral of a sibling who has never attended. Campers who come 8 weeks get $1000 off tuition, and campers who come 4 weeks get $400 off.

Can my child use a cell phone at camp?
No. We do not permit campers to use cell phones.
Cell Phone Policy
No Cell Phones
We believe that a complete break from phones is healthy for children while at camp.
If a camper needs to communicate with parents, we will make a phone available to them. Parents can communicate essential information to their campers by emailing the directors. Please do not call us asking to talk to them.
If a camper is caught using a cell phone, the phone will be confiscated until the end of the week.
While there are many excellent uses of smartphones, we cannot monitor how campers use them. Phones may not be used for audiobooks, ebooks, flashcards, or any other purpose while at camp. The no-phone policy applies universally to phones. A week at Slovenski Camps is a week free from glowing rectangles.
If your child has an important need to use a phone during the week, please let us know ahead and we can make a specific allowance.
What if I want to check on my child?
Although we cannot perform routine checkups on your camper, we will reach out to you immediately if contact is needed.
If you need to pass on important information to your camper, please email us at slovenskicamps@gmail.com. Please do not call us and ask to speak to your camper.
Other Electronic Devices
A few devices are permitted such as e-readers that do not have other capabilities. A kindle fire is not allowed, while a regular kindle reader is allowed. Handheld gaming devices are prohibited and will be confiscated.
Please ask us about specific devices if you are wondering
Campers may not call home during the session. We cannot put you on the phone to check up or say hi. If there is an emergency, we will contact you when appropriate.
You may send a camper with a phone when they are traveling alone to get to us, such as by plane. We can hold onto the phone for the camp week.
If a camper is seen with or known to have a cell phone, camp will confiscate it for the rest of the week and return it at the end.

Travel & Check In
When should I get to camp?
Check-in is from 3pm-4:30pm Saturday; check out is from 10am to 11am Saturday.
Some campers go home Friday night after the parent campfire. Parents picking up their kids Friday should come at 7 to help pack up before campfire starts at 8. Campfire ends around 9:15, but you are welcome to leave sooner if you need to.
How do I get to camp?
Address for GPS Units: 25 David Plummer Rd / Raymond, ME 04071
There are two Plummer Roads in Raymond. We are on 25 DAVID Plummer Road. Be sure to type 25 DAVID Pummer Road into your gps. If you do not type "David Plummer" the gps will take you to Plummer road, which is the wrong road
Some GPS units will tell you to turn off of 121 onto Panther Pond Pines Rd. This is incorrect. Once you are on Rt. 121, keep going until you get to David Plummer Rd. GPS units think that Panther Pond Pines Rd connects with David Plummer Rd, but it does not. Turn right off of Rt 121 directly onto David Plummer Rd. There will be a white sign with blue lettering for camp.
Yes, we offer free rides to and from the airport, bus station, and train station for campers arriving from far. We are pretty flexible with time, but we'd prefer you choose sometime between 9am and 9pm.
We have a few brief recommendations on our accommodations page. We generally recommend you search the web to find a place that suites your fancy and price range.

What should I NOT bring?
Cell Phones
Computers
Video games
Jewelry
Cash
Other valuables
Snacks with large amounts of peanut butter
Can I bring snacks?
Yes, but any snacks must be in sealed containers and should not contain large amounts of peanut butter or nut products.
What forms should I bring to camp?
Health form with immunization record & Release form
*Note: a copy of a school athletic physical complete with immunization record and doctor's signature may be substituted for the health form.
Food Allergies
What if my camper has a food allergy?
We have many campers with food allergies. The cooking staff is well prepared to provide plenty of alternatives and a safe dining environment. Campers & parents meet with the nurse and cook at checkin to discuss details. We label all dishes with allergens, and try to choose simple recipes & products that do not contain unnecessary ingredients.
Camp is not a nut-free environment. The dining hall serves some dishes and products containing nuts, and campers are allowed to bring snacks with nuts.
We have a nurse or wilderness first responder on staff, along with many counselors certified in first aid and the use of epipens. We do have epipens on site in case of an emergency.
Campers with food allergies or medical issues should contact Peter Slovenski at peter.slovenski@gmail.com
From the parent of a camper with food allergies: "Alex said he felt just as safe at camp with his peanut allergy as he does at home. Thank you so much for creating such a great environment for him with his allergy, it’s such a relief to know that he feels so comfortable, and has so much fun." -Abigail Labbe, ajlabbe@comcast.net
What food do you serve at camp?
We have all sorts of simple foods. We are prepared for picky eaters. Check out our basic menu for a rough idea of what will be served:
<Camp Menu
Medicine
What if my child needs medicine during camp?
We have a nurse on staff full time. She must hold and administer medicine. She will be at check in to collect medicine and talk to parents. All medicine must be in original prescription containers with instructions. Call if you have more questions.
Sending Mail
Can I send mail to my camper?
Please do not send mail or packages to campers. The mail system between the Raymond Post office and our camp is very slow, and it usually will not make it to us in time. You can give us any mail for them at check-in and we will deliver it mid-week.
Intersession
Can a camper stay at camp between two sessions?
Yes. Intersession is free. After a little free, campers eat lunch from 12:15 - 45.
Then from 1 - 3 they take an extended rest hour. After that campers go tubing
behind the motor boat if they wish and the weather permits. Intersession may
also include some light camp improvement work like raking.
Is there laundry?
Yes. Campers who stay two or more weeks may use our laundry service free of
charge. They are required to use our bright green laundry bags which
will be picked up on Saturday and returned Sunday with clothes washed,
dried and folded. In the event of a misplaced bag, reimbursement by the
camp will be limited to $100, to cover lost shorts, t-shirts, socks and
underwear. Please do not send expensive or irreplaceable clothing to camp.
Refunds
Can I just pay a deposit?
Yes. That will be an option when you register along with a few payment plan options.
What if I need to switch to a different week?
We can easily make switches between weeks as long as the week you are switching
into is not full. Please email us to request
What is your refund policy?
We are happy to refund you up until 10 days before your camp session starts for any reason. We can either give you tuition credit for next summer, or a cash refund of all but a small fee
Campers staying multiple weeks get complimentary laundry
Multi week campers should pack one extra set of clothes to wear while the laundry is gone
We strongly suggest you label your belongings and make a checklist of items you brought
*jazz friday is a pseudo fancy dinner with a live jazz combo. some counselors and campers like to dress up a little, but many campers continue in normal camp clothes
Miscellaneous Questions
What do you do when it rains?
We have several large indoor buildings where campers can play board games, cards, make frienship bracelets, or play ping pong. Campers play more active games in the Colosseum such as volleyball or indoor soccer. If there's a longer period of rain, we often show a movie in the Colosseum on the projector. If there is no thunder and it is warm enough, we may continue playing some outdoor games, such as swimming, through the rain.
What do you do if there's a severe storm?
The Colosseum is the camp storm shelter. It was constructed in 2016. The parking lot surrounds the building so there are not any large trees that could fall on it. It comfortably holds the entire camp. During a storm, we gather in the Colosseum and watch a movie.
Is there any sort of religious service?
Yes. We offer an ecumenical chapel service on Sundays. Attendance is optional. Themes vary week to week and include gratitude, generosity, charity, and honesty. The program includes worship, reflection, teaching, and fellowship.
What activities do you offer besides those in the sample schedule?
We have an activity database that includes some of the options offered each period and during free times. This list is under construction, but should be complete by the end of the 2019 camp season: activity database
Is Camp Coed?
Yes. Most of the activities are open to everyone. All the camp programs (see the calendar for concurrent programs) eat in the same dining hall, play the evening activity choices together, and share free times including swimming. Boys are not allowed near the girl cabins and vice versa.
What is Jazz Friday?
Jazz night is a dinner concert. A counselor jazz band plays while campers eat. Some counselors dress up, and some campers find it fun to dress up too.
Check out the Jazz Nightpage for more information and a video
Do you offer any scholarships?
No. We price our camps competitively while running the best camp we can. We have early season pricing at the end of June, along with referral discounts.
Many independent agencies and towns offer scholarships for summer camps. We recommend searching the web for scholarships for which you may be eligible, but we know of one that may apply to many of our campers:
