We are in the hiring process for 2019 counselors. We look for counselors with integrity, strong values, independence, character, and work ethic who have a variety of skills in sports, music, arts, medicine, and academics. We train them to maintain a safe environment while facilitating activities. Many of our counselors started out as campers and return for multiples years on the staff.
I am a teaching fellow at the Kent Denver School in CO, and a recent graduate of Bowdoin College, where I studied Biochemistry and Education and was a two-year captain of the Track and Field team. I first came to Slovenski Camps as a cabin counselor in the summer of 2015, and have happily returned every summer since. I am in love with the camp's beautiful location on Panther Pond and our family of caring and fun-loving staff who work so hard to create a special experience for our campers.
This will be my third summer working at camp and I could not be more exited for nights by campfire. I spend most of my time with the cross country camp, which the peninsula's lakeside trails are perfect for. I also love playing jungle pong and eating ice cream from the Mosquito.
I first came to camp in 2013 for Sand Volleyball Camp. Some of my favorite camp activities included volleyball and canoeing. I love working at camp because I get to live on the lake the whole summer and meet lots of wonderful people!
I first came to Slovenski Camps five years ago, after my Dad told me about a camp he found online so good I was sure he was making fun of me. Fortunately for me, he wasn't, and I have enjoyed running the trails and eating nutritious dining hall food ever since, which helps me train for my Cross Country Season at Ohio Wesleyan University. Having been a counselor for the past two years, I love working with the campers to improve both physically and mentally, and to develop new skills.
Summer of 2018 will be my sixth year at Slovenski Camps: my third year as a counselor after three years of being a camper. This camp is my home away from home and one of my favorite places to be in the world. The environment is always so positive and energetic and I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be in the summer.
HI, I'm Belle! I first came to Solvenski Camps as an a capella camper in 2012 and then joined the staff in 2014. I am a recent graduate of the Universtiy of Maine where I studied Mass Communication and Theatre. I enjoy playing drama games, making friendship bracelets, and singing songs around the campfire each night, but the thing I love most about camp is how once you get there, you are able to escape from the distractions of the rest of the world by becoming immersed in nature.
Hi, I’m Mushu! This is my second year as a counselor after four years of being an a capella camper. So many options to choose from but I love singing at campfire, making friendship bracelets but most of all spending time with the campers and getting to know them. The friendships I made at camp are some of the strongest I have and I hope your camper has that experience as well. Slovenski Camp is my home away from home and I am beyond thankful that I get to spend my summer working on Panther Pond.
