Dugan Carlson Slovenski graduated from El Cerrito High School (California) in 1977 and graduated from Stanford University in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in history. She earned a teaching credential from Bates College. She taught high school math before stepping out to raise the Slovenski boys.
She was an active parent volunteer, coaching the 5th grade math team at Longfellow Elementary School. She served on the Brunswick School Board for eight years. In 2006 she joined the staff of Maine Prep, where she teaches SAT classes and works with students individually to prep for the PSAT, SAT, ACT, and SAT math subject tests. She has taught SAT classes at Cape Elizabeth High School and Freeport High School. She conducted Maine Prep teacher training for teachers at Lewiston High School and Monmouth Academy.
Dugan has conducted private tutoring sessions with students from North Yarmouth Academy, Waynflete Academy, Phillips Exeter Academy, Hebron Academy, Deerfield Academy, Cheverus High School, Catherine McAuley School, Hyde School, Falmouth High School, Greely High School and home-schooled students.
