Adults
over the age of 20 are invited to enjoy a week of knitting and recreational
activity at our beautiful camp on the shores of Panther Pond. Our morning,
afternoon, and evening sessions will be designed so that knitters will have a
fun week of knitting with as much freedom or instruction as they want.
In addition to knitting, each day will include light activity options such as swimming, canoeing, kayak paddling, and hiking. Our camp has a mile of scenic trails for walking on a beautiful Maine peninsula. Our end of Panther Pond has several miles of shoreline that include an interesting swamp, river, and island for exploring by canoe and kayak.
Beginners
and people of all knitting levels and abilities are welcome to the camp.
You can bring an ongoing project, or Orette will help you start a new project such as a scarf, pair of mittens, or a sweater.
4 projects will be extensively supported with kits from QuiltEssentials ranging from $20-$30. Two will be beginner projects: a mid-weight scarf and a dish cloth, and two will be more advanced: a multi-colored hat and mittens. Knitters are not by any means limited to these projects.
Knitting will be done on cabin porches overlooking the lake, or in chairs on the sandy beach.
Knitters will also be able to participate in shopping trips to Freeport and L.L. Bean.
